For those of you looking to start a website or thinking about changing your website and your not sure what you want to do yet, you owe to yourself to check out www.UltraAgent.com.  It is very simple to navigate and there are many templates to choose from.  You can even customize the header with a stock photo or any photo that you may have. The photo I for my site I took myself on Nokomis Beach.

I switched over to UltraAgent months ago and I love it.  I can update my site whenever I want without getting charged for labor and I have received many compliments from customers. They love the way it is laid out, very easy to follow.

I also just found out that UltraAgent now offers IDX and I am considering incorporating that into my website shortly.  I was iframing my MLS IDX and I received a lot of complaints about that so I now iframed my company's search page and that seems to be working much better for me, what do you think? (http://www.discovervenicerealestate.com/ip.aspx?p=1252&page=MLS-Home-Search). Anyway my point is there are a lot of options available that are easy on your wallet.

I was told templates are bad for google. I will park here and maybe others will answer that or what do you think?

My site is pretty new but I am seeing results.  I did not hear that templates where bad for google, maybe if the content is canned but I wrote everything on my site.  I am curious to see how others feel about google and templates with originial content.

Having build hundreds (never really counted, but probably over 1000) sites and working with templates from different companies for many years, I can tell you that not all templates is bad for SEO.

If you paid say $65 for your template and there is no administration feature, then most likely your template does not have any option to optimize for SEO since all pages would have the same Metatags unless you are technical enough or have a technical person to update the code.

A couple of the templates that I use do have SEO features build in and cost about $150+. I found that for my clients, it would be an easy way to get them started and they are happy at whatever position that they are in. iFrames are definitely not good for SEO.

Templates are easy to get up, but the problem is that your site is not unique since if people know where you got it from, they can easily copy yours and it is hard to update especially if the template does not have a feature you want.

That is why I usually working with them in 3 phases where the 1st phase is to get them up and running so they can quickly and cheaply test if a website is for them. 2nd phase is to add a few additional features that would help the site, while the 3rd phase would add all their wishlists. By then they should be doing pretty well and their is no doubt about my abilities.
