Wordless Wednesday - Venice Florida's Banyan Tree

In Venice Florida, one of our largest and most beautiful trees is the Banyan Tree.  This tree is one of the many trees that line the main road to Venice Beach on Venice Avenue.

What a great looking tree!  How old do you think this one is?

What a beauty.  Just waiting for Spring to hatch so we can see some green again.

Lou - They are good looking trees.  I enjoy them very much.

An - Not sure what the age is but it is safe to say very very old.

Marcie - It has been a very cold winter for us and we can not wait for spring either but we are very fortunate not to have to deal with all the snow the rest of the country is dealing with.  Thanks for viewing.

Kari, that is a huge Banyan Tree! They are so pretty to look at and provide much needed shade in the Florida heat!

Thanks for the post.  Those trees were always one of my favorite parts of visting my uncle down in Florida.  Brought back a lot of good memories.  Best of luck in 2010

I have never seen one, they look enormous and the shade must be really cool.
