Steve Wooster, Chairman of the Green Real Estate Alliance of Sarasota Florida offered me this great "Green Marketing" tip: Celebrate Arbor Day and join the 4th Grader Foresters Program. Arbor Day is the third Friday of January for Florida, January 19th. Every state celebrates Arbor Day on a different date. To check the day your state celebrates Arbor Day visit www.arborday.org.
The project is a simple and inexpensive way for you to sponsor the 4th grade students at your local elementary school in your community. Sponsors can attach a their business card to each tree and sponsorship can be announced in press releases to local media. This is the best feel good marketing you can ever do.
This project will help revitalize observation of Arbor in our schools and to send every fourth grader home with a native tree of their own to plant and care for. As the tree grows they will remember who gave it to them.
Sponsors of this meaningful project will build name recognition for their business, help spread the word and show your commitment to reduce global warming and best of all you will be inspiring children to plant, nuture and be responsible stewards of the environment.
Now in the era of global warming and air pollution, tree planting is even more important than ever says Sarah Henne, Project Coordinator for Forth Grader Foresters Program. "Trees take carbon dioxide (CO2) out of the atmosphere to help reduce warming and clean the air we breathe. Planting trees is a simple, inexpensive and easy way to address the problem."

Wow that is terriffic. I visit Thomas Jefferson home, Monticello, in VA often as my sister lives close by. Glad to hear others are still celebrating Arbor Day. We will be planting Sabal Palms in Florida.
